WINTON DURRELL WEITMAN
Winton Durrell Weitman 81, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at his residence under the care of Odyssey Healthcare. Mr. Weitman was a native of Tattnall, County and a longtime resident of Savannah. He was a member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church, BPOL Elks #183, the Savannah Shag Club, the Tattnall Travelers, the American Legion Post #36, and the Georgia Salzburger Society. Mr. Weitman was a retired Conductor from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad and he was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Weitman was preceded death by his wife Ronie Williams Weitman.
Surviving are, his daughters, Linda Crosby and husband Guy of Metter, GA, Judy Herndon and husband Tony of Metter, GA, Judy Dew, and husband David of Duluth, GA., Brenda Lord and husband Bill of Huntersville, NC and Lisa Wilson and husband Eddie of Savannah; his son, Virgil Hadden and wife Cindy of Naples, FL; his special friend, Sally Dutton of Glennville, GA, his sister, Vera Branch and husband Hugh of Savannah, his twin sisters, Melba Brannen and husband, Grady and Nelba Barnett both of Glennville, GA; his grandchildren, Carol Hill, Evan Crosby, Ashley Greene, Amanda Hadden, Rachel Wilson, Stephen Wilson, Stephanie Dew, Lee Dew, Timothy Dew, Heather Allen, Matthew Lord, Lora Herndon, Gina Herndon, Chuck Herndon, Johnny Herndon, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will Monday, April 27, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Windsor Forest Baptist Church with Dr. Doug McCart officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
